Hi, i tried to install network cards to testlab desktop which serves as virtual server. I have two quad port NICs(see details below) but neither of them works. As i insert these to the mainboard and attempt to boot, HPZ220 just starts beeping 5 times and fails to boot. Also powerbutton blinks read. Manual says following:
"Red Power LED blinks five times, once every second, followed by a two-second pause. Fivebeeps.
->Pre-video memory error."
Network cards i've tried are:
HP NC375T https://support.hpe.com/hpesc/public/docDisplay?docId=emr_na-c01951393
And
Both are x4 PCI Express and should be compatible with x4, x8, and x16 PCI slots in Z220?
I've lates bios installed in Z220.

"Pre-video memory error" might indicate that computer is assuming these cards to be display adapters and fails when encountering NICs instead?
Is there way to force bios to use integrated display adapter thus skipping this change?

The pre vid error means to re-seat your mem sticks, which doesn't make much sense unless you changed those out too.
You can try re-seating the memory sticks and rebooting one at a time to see if you have a bad or not-fully-seated memory stick.
If that doesn't work:
I would try it again with the nic card and listen for long and short beeps and jot those down, also during that restart press any key except the F-keys and see if it shows an error code.
I have a feeling it's the nic-pxe setting in BIOS but that's just a hunch without more info. Which changing the nic-pxe in bios would solve if you can boot without the nic card in, if not, resetting the bios may fix.
