Why does the new RAM DIMM not work? I installed it in the same slot as the old DIMM, and I have five of the same DIMMs as the new DIMM, none of them work in any configuration. I was trying to upgrade to 64GB of RAM, which to my knowledge is supported by the Z240. Also, I just updated the BIOS to the latest version, so there should be no issues there.
Below is the new 16GB DIMM:
Below is the old 8GB DIMM:

Welcome to our HP Community forum!
Your pictures didn't make it, so I have no idea what RAM (part number) you had installed, or what the new RAM is you want to install, let alone why it wouldn't work.
Side notes:
1.) Do not mix different RAM modules. Use same brand, model and capacity RAM sticks.
2.) Mind you, ONLY Unbuffered (UDIMM) DDR4 RAM is supported.
3.) Even though the HP Z240 platform specs indicates that your PC is suitable for both Non-ECC and ECC RAM, my personal experience is that Non-ECC RAM, specifically DDR4 PC4-19200, 2400 MHz, Non-ECC, UDIMM, 288-pin RAM sticks, works best in your platform.
Amongst the very best 4x16GB RAM you can choose from for your desktop, I would recommend the dual-rank (2Rx8) Crucial 4x16GB (p/n: CT16G4DFD824A) RAM modules.
Kind Regards,
