Added a HDD SATA drive to system. I want the 250gb solid state to have Programs only and ALL data to default to New drive. A procedure to change c:/user/denis/documents to h:/user/denis/documents by default. to free-up space on drive C: How To?
Create folders on H: drive first (no need to copy any data).
Back on your C: drive, right click on Documents folder, properties. Click the Location tab. Click Move. Choose new folder you created on H: drive, answer YES when it asks if you want to move all your data to H: drive.
**NOTE: I've had issues with Windows update, specifically the update to version 2004, where it would not complete when the location of the "desktop" folder had been moved. I simply moved it back to C: drive for the upgrade to 2004 then moved it back to my D drive and everything worked out fine.
