HP Z6 G5 A Workstation

Hello everyone,
We had to remove the Front Fan and Front Card Guide Kit from a Z6 G5 A (AMD) in order to install a huge RTX 4080 SUPER .

The consequence is a boot error that can be bypassed by simply pressing enter, but it's not ideal.

I found an article by BARCO that explains the same problem with the Z6 G5 (Intel), solved by a new Bios with "Disable Fan Post Errors" boot option: https://www.barco.com/en/support/knowledge-base/10188-my-post-error-519-aux-fan-not-detected

Does anyone know of another solution to this problem ?

Many thanks in advance.

Here are the error messages :

@logeben,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

I imagine this is how your RTX 4080 Super is fitted in your HP Z6 G5 Tower Workstation:

You unplugged the 4-pin PWM power front panel cooling fan connector (circled blue).  What I would do is to install a slim-sized 120mm cooling fan, such as this example: 120mm Slim Computer Case Cooling Fan 12015 15mm Thickness 53.6CFM PWM Cooler | eBay.  I am almost positive that you got sufficient space left between your front panel and your GPU to install this 15mm thick cooling fan and plug it in your front panel's 4-pin PWM power connector.  Error 519/525 be gone!

Kind Regards,

Hello NonSequitur777, Thanks for your support on this problem, I really appreciate it !!!

I ordered a fan that looks like your recommendation ... but the 4-pin connector (black on the picture) has different plastic guides than the HP one (white on the picture). I can't insert it

Do you have any idea if I can use an adapter?
