HP Z800 Base Model Workstation
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Good evening or good morning, I do not know where you are.

So, I have got a z800 (two core Xeon E5530, 64Gb, ssd 1Tb, k2200, win 10 PRO for Workstation) and I was happy but   my DVD is lost about 3 week ago (And now I am very sad) . I do not understand what has happened but I know that controller IDE ATA/ATAPI is vanished and the same for DVDROM (CDROM, HL-DT-ST DVD-RAM GH40L).  The BIOS finds it and if I try to insert win10 restore disk it will work. The problem appears after OS is loaded. Could you help me? I do not want reinstall my OS.

Thank's.

Mauro

Post scriptum: I am so sorry for my bad English.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer would be to try some of the procedures recommended by Microsoft when the DVD drive is not seen in Windows.

You may want to try methods 4, 5 and 6 first.

L'unità CD o DVD non è riconosciuta da Windows o da altri programmi (microsoft.com)

Good morning, I have tried but that doesn't work., but I have some news and I think that is more complicated. I have posted some pictures to explain thatCattura_0.JPG

Furthermore the GUID {4d36e965-e325-11ce-bfc1-08002be10318} has more and more keys inside the reg win10. Do you think I will be happy if I remove all it?

Good morning (afternnon):

Sorry the tips from Microsoft didn't work.

Unfortunately, I don't know what you need to do now.

You can try removing the registry entries.

I don't suppose that it can't make things any worse, since the drive is not showing up in Windows.
