hello again, it's my second question, this time about the stated maximum memory.

so if each of the two slots support up to 8GB with my 64-bit OS, are they support 2x8 or 16GB of memory? if yes then why do the specs'  two last lines stated only 8GB?

It's more or less complicated!
In general Hp indicates the max memory which has been validated, tested!
In some cases, therefore, what is mentioned is not always the maximum supported!
For this model therefore, it would be possible to install an 8 GB module, on one of the two slots, 8 GB max!
or two modules on each of 4 GB, max 8 GB
