omen 870-213w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Can my desktop a new 870-213 handle an additional hard drive?  There appears many slots for extra hard drives, but I can not identify any extra SATA ports to attach a new data cable.  There are several available power cables sitting there.

thanks

allways check the hp documentation/service/user/ manuals first before posting, it's likely the information you seek is there.

looking at the motherboard, i see 3 SATA ports on the board.

and a online review shows two 3.5 drive bays and what appears to be a space for a 2.5 drive right above the 3.5 bays

Apparently there are only three ports on the motherboard.

How could one add a HD to the computer?  Is there some kind of add on card that would have added ports?  Or am I stuck with a USB connected hard drive?

thank

if you look at the HP quickspecs for the motherboard (which shows the pict of the board) or the user manual, or look inside your system, you will see how may PCI-e lots are free, now do you suppose that makers of pci-e cards might actually make stuff to install in those slots?

amazon, newegg, ebay  (along with google) are your friends here to decide which SATA or SAS/SATA or Raid card you can install
