Pavillion B&O model# 23-q014
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Pavillion B&O all-in-one, model 23-q014, product#l9k89aa#aba.  I just inherited my father's computer.  It's been off for 2 years.  I plugged it in and it won't start.  I tried the "hard start" by unplugging everything and holding on/off button for 15 seconds, but that did not work either.  I don't know if the unit has an internal battery that needs to be charged first or if there is something else.  The computer was working when my father died in 2018.  Any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

@Bernie26,

There is no battery power. It is from the laptop style supply. Check that the power cord is fully seated into the power brick. That is usually an overlooked issue.

I check the power supply and everything is fully seated.  I even plugged it directly into the outlet instead of the power strip and still the computer does not turn on.  Does it being off for 2 years have anything to do with this?  I don't know if it was plugged in or not over the past 2 years.  Does the system need to be "recharged" first to operate?  I'm just trying to think outside the box on this.  Thanks.

@Bernie26,

The computer only gets power from the power supply.  Stilling idle for any duration, a day or years, has no bearing on the problem. Are you sure your pressing the "power button and releasing it"?

Yes I am pressing the power button and releasing it.  The power button is in the lower right corner of the unit.
