Hi @cag250,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If the backspace key on your HP Pavilion All-in-One 27 isn't working consistently even after reinstalling the keyboard drivers and replacing the keyboard, here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot the issue.
- Check for Software Conflicts: Sometimes, software can interfere with keyboard functionality. Try booting into Safe Mode to see if the backspace key works there. If it does, a third-party application may be causing the issue.
- Update Keyboard Drivers: Go to Device Manager, find your keyboard under "Keyboards," and update the driver. You might also want to uninstall the driver and let Windows reinstall it automatically on reboot.
- Test in Different Applications: Check if the backspace key works in various applications (like Notepad, Word, etc.). This will help determine if the issue is application-specific.
- Keyboard Settings: Check your keyboard settings in Windows. Go to Settings > Devices > Typing and ensure everything is set correctly. Look for features like Filter Keys that might be affecting responsiveness.
- Check for Hardware Issues: If possible, try connecting a different keyboard to the All-in-One to see if the issue persists. If it does, it might be a hardware issue with the PC itself.
- Reset Windows: If none of the above solutions work, consider resetting Windows to its default settings. Make sure to back up your data before doing this.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
