does the benicia IPIBL -LB support AHCI in the bios? I hope to install a Samsung 128 GB 830 ssd SATA drive

You can use an SSD. Changing to AHCI can be done after installation of the operating system to the SSD.
You will have to enter the BIOS (F10 after pressing power)to enable AHCI after this is done.

What is the HP desktop PC's product name\number?
What is the installed operating system?

1. What are the benefits of using AHCI?
2. The method you recommend for Windows-7, would that apply also to Windows-10?
3. I have a hard disk that gives SMART failure message. Is there a way to deactivate SMART? The only way I found to deactivate SMART has been to actually remove that hard disk so that BIOS will not see it
