I just started up my old Presario Desktop SR1900nx and upgraded it to windows 10 Pro. I cloned my old hard drive with a 2T hard drive (SATA) with no problems. I now want to speed up my system with an SSD. Is this to old to do or can it be done? If it can be done, which SSD would be the best to use? I just upgraded my laptop to a crucial MX500 1T SSD and the speed improvement is amazing. The laptop is a 8 year old acer.

@C_prompt Welcome to HP Community!
I understand that you would like to upgrade the hard drive to SSD.
(HP does not recommend upgrades as the device is equipped with parts that perform at its optimal performance and also, the upgradeable parts listed in HP articles are purely for your ease, though the decision to upgrade will be at your own discretion)
If you wish to modify, do it at your own discretion.

As the chipset is the ATI Radeon Xpress 200 (circa 2006), the SATA port speed is SATA 1, or 150MB/s.
That is 25% of the rated speed for an 2.5" SSD drive. (SATA 3, or 600MB/s).
Caution: the PCIEx16 slot is Gen 1. Only limited success with Gen 2 cards, not 2.1 or 3.
