I want to upgrade my ram to a 16gb but im not sire my processor can handle it

It cannot. 8 gigs is going to be the maximum. There is only one memory slot and it takes up to an 8 gig module of DDR4-2400 SO-DIMM. In your case I think the upgrade makes some sense but do not excpect miracles. The AMD E2-9000e processor is not very powerful and severely constrains the things the laptop can do.
