Microsoft Windows 11

Can i upgrade the processor, 22-df0023w, this laptop is terribly slow even with the RAM maxed out.

The processor is an integral part of the motherboard and cannot be upgraded.

Any Intel or AMD processor that ends in a 'U' is an integral part of the motherboard.

Thank you Paul! could I replace the entire motherboard on this all in one with a more powerful one?

You're very welcome.

The product specs for your PC indicate that it comes with the MonkD motherboard.

According to the motherboard specs, your PC has the best processor HP offered in the model series, so there aren't any better motherboards you could install.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to replace the 1 TB slow-poke mechanical hard drive with a M.2 NVMe SSD such as this one:

Amazon.com: SAMSUNG 980 SSD 1TB PCle 3.0x4, NVMe M.2 2280, Internal Solid State Drive, Storage for P...

You can either remove the mechanical hard drive or use it for additional storage.

If you choose to keep the hard drive installed, temporarily disconnect it so the Windows boot manager automatically switches to the NVMe SSD.

Then you can connect it back up again.

I believe the slow performing drive is the cause of your dilemma.

You can use the HP cloud recovery tool to create a bootable USB recovery drive to reinstall Windows.

Here is an info link for how to use the Cloud recovery tool.   You will need a 32 GB USB flash drive for this.

You can download the tool from the Microsoft store:

If you decide to invest in this upgrade, make the recovery media now before installing the NVMe drive.
