Solved!

can my hp 8433 motherboard support 3200 hertz RAM?

HP Recommended
Pavilion 6900-00x
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I want to upgrade my ram and I was wondering if the HP8433 motherboard in my computer can support faster ram, specifically 3200 Hz ram. It came with 16gb of 2666 Hz ram and the website only says it can be upgraded to 32 gb, but says nothing about the speed so i wanted to make sure before making a purchase. Thank you in advance.

What is your  Pavilion 690-00x  machine ? For example

HP Pavilion 690-0010 Gaming Desktop PC

Motherboard on your machine should be the same.  It supports 2666MHz RAM, you can install 3200MHz RAM but it will run at 2666MHz

So this is why it comes with such slow RAM? The MoBo won't support faster?

It doesn't say more than 690-00x in system information model name ... but it's a 8433 11  "system board" or listed in speccy as a HP 8433  ..

i guess i'll go with

Corsair Vengeance LPX 32GB (2x16GB) 2666MHz C16 DDR4 DRAM Memory Kit

in that case.. i can't see why this wouldn't work, right?
