HI,
I'm desperately trying to lower the brightness but it's nowhere to found. it doesn't show anywhere.
'HP my display' starts but no changes seen. fails to update. it also says "detected graphic driver is not installed".
I tried updating windows.
in device manager i tried updating the devices but it says i have the most recent driver:
display adapter: AMD radeon HD 7600A series
monitors: Generic PnP monitor
Any help much appreciated

Hi, @AlphaGolf
See if this works...
Download and install this free file utility.
The 2nd file at the top of the page is for 64 bit.
Download and save but do not run the AMD graphics driver from your PC's support page.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp59001-59500/sp59361.exe
After you save the graphics driver file, right click on it, and select 7-Zip from the list of items on the menu.
Have 7-Zip Extract to: and let it extract the file into its folder name (sp59361).
Once that is completed, go to the device manager. Click to expand the Display Adapters device manager category.
Click on the Microsoft Basic Display Adapter listed there.
Click on the Driver tab. Click on Update Driver.
Select the Browse my computer for driver software option, and then at the bottom of that window, select the Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer.
Click on Have Disk, and browse to the driver folder 7-Zip created>src>Packages>Drivers>Display>W86A_INF>C8145528 (setup information file), click Next and see if the driver installs that way.
If it does, restart the PC after the driver has completed installing.

Before you need to install the driver for the Intel graphics card integrated to your motherboard:
If not work you can totally uninstall your AMD driver by right clic on in your device manager. Select the box to delete all the driver if available, click "OK" and restart your PC to see if it is automatically reinstall.
