I have taken the cover off to upgrade the memory but that was in 2015.  Does anyone think I can use another cd without taking the fallen one out?  I heard it drop down and hit ?bottom?  I can't remember how to take the cover off and I have had 10 operations on my hands since then and they don't work like they used to.  Any ideas?  I can't open my manual file either.

Actually, the CD is made of a truly non-conductive material.

It won't  hurt anything  inside of the PC even when the PC is turned on.

I suggest that you take your desktop PC to a shop and have the CDRW drive replaced if you intend to continue using it.

The replacement driver are inexpensive, but not very common there days.

I do not recall ever hearing of the issue of a CD falling into a PC as you have described.

I appreciate your reply.  I will take it apart myself and get the cd out.  I had to add memory so it isn't a problem.  I was just in a hurry and needed to use the drive.  Other people have complained about the same thing happening to them. I'm surprized you haven't heard of it happening.   I have bigger issues with this computer now. It's out to get me and drive me into an insane asylum.   I may just smash it and get thie disc out then LOL.  Thanks for your reply.  I really appreciate your taking the time to reply to me.
