How do I adjust the level of close-up on the popup camera on my HP all-in-one PC? I need to see more face and less of the room I'm in. This is for when I'm in a Zoom meeting. Please answer in plain English. Also, I don't want a solution that involves facial recognition software: I need to fix this manually.

"Please answer in plain English"
That is hilarious.
I will accede to your request and refrain from answering in Nederlands or Spanish.
Purchase an external USB high resolution, at least 1080p, perhaps zoom capable, webcam to use for Zoom meetings.
It is not truly possible to reply to your specific request since you did not identify you All-In-One PC beyond calling it that.
HP has produced and brought to market more than a thousand different models of notebooks and desktop PCs over the years.
It is difficult to help you if we don't know which specific model you own..
Method #1: If the notebook will boot into Windows, you can retrieve your Product Number by pressing Fn + Esc key.
Method #2: Press the power button and immediately tap the F10 key to invoke the BIOS. In the Main section, you will find the Product number or Product ID. Post that in your next reply in your thread.
Method #3: Press the power button and immediately tap the F2 key.
Method #4: If powering on is not an option, take a look at the bottom of the laptop for the label with the product name and product number. For a desktop look at the rear for the label.
If your laptop has HP Hardware Diagnostics UEFI version 10.3.0.0, there is a System Information section that also has the Product ID.
We need that information, along with the installed Operating System information to help you.

Much appreciated, Erico!
My computer is an HP All-in-one 24-df1000. Do you need more info than this?
It's hard to believe that there's no adjustment for close-up on these built-in cameras when there are so many other adjustments built into the system -- contrast, brightness, etc.
So I am now using the external logi camera from my old computer, with my new computer, b/c its default is much closer-up. It's fine. I was just hoping that there's a way to adjust the popup camera that came with my HP All-in-one 24-df1000.
(When I said "plain English" all I meant was to request as non-techy language as possible. Too many times, I see answers that involve a series of clicking on this or that, etc., and it's not always so clear to a lay person like me. Your writing is clear, fortunately! )
SO if you have more info for me on adjusting the close-up amount on my computer's popup camera, I'd surely appreciate it!! TYIA!

Since you have provided only the generic model series 24-df1000 as a means of identifying your PC I can only give a general answer.
There are 19 pages of different hardware configurations in the model series that your HP All-in-one 24-df1000 belongs to.
Generally, your model series is delivered with an HP True Vision 720p HD privacy camera without frills. There is no ability to zoom in or make adjustments beyond what is in the Zoom settings. That limits you to having to sit a bit closer to the webcamera.

Yes, Erico: You guessed right that the popup camera on my new HP All-in-One 24-df1000 is the HP True Vision 720pHD privacy camera with integrated dual array digital microphone.
I guess it's a good thing I still own the logi external camera that I was using with my old computer, which has a better ratio of face to background.
Perhaps you can pass along to HP that they need to change the default zoom level of this 720pHD camera in the All-in-One desktop computers? I found in a Google search that there are others who have the same issue as I brought up. One person said that viewers can see just about all of their office in the background: that's seldom if ever necessary and it's a nuisance as well.
Thank you SO much for answering my question so kindly and patiently, Erico! All the best to you.

You're welcome!
My identification of the webcam in your All-In-One PC was not a guess.
