Hi, I would like you to help me with a question I have. I like to play games but my processor is not enough and I would like to know if I can change it or not, or that I can change my hardware to get the juice out of my laptop.

Hello ButtonMash_V_XD,

Your laptop has an APU AMD Quad-Core A10-9600P - correct?

If so, I regret to inform you that CPU upgrades are physically impossible, because this processor uses a BGA socket.

This means that processor is embedded/soldered onto the motherboard and upgrades are impossible.

Hope this helps,

Eddy

Hello ButtonMash_V_XD,

In order to provide an accurate answer, a specific model/product number would be appreciated. (Please do not post serial numbers on the HP Support Forum)

Information on how to find a laptop's model/product number is detailed in this HP document.

Regards,

Eddy

I do not know if that is my processor, it does not say APU.that's how I got its characteristics: AMD A10-9600P RADEON R5, 10 COMPUTE CORES 4C+6G.
_Socket FP4 (968)

_AMD Radeon Graphics.

I thank you for helping me.

Hello ButtonMash_V_XD,

No problem.:smileywink:

The CPU information you provided is the same.:smileyhappy:

So I'm really sorry to say that any CPU upgrade is impossible.

You did also list your socket as the FP4 which further justifies the fact that this computer uses a BGA socket (Ball Grid Array) which deters any kind of user upgrade.

The only suggestion I have for you in order to play games would be to make sure that Windows is on High Performance, the laptop is plugged into power, and that the in-game settings are set to medium or low.

All the best,

Eddy
