OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-022nl (ENERGY STAR)
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My ethernet socket no longer works and I should change the port of the pc which I have already ascertained is not working.

I see no way to replace it with another network card as the PCI ports (1 port) is already occupied by the video card.

How can I solve? Do I have to buy an external network card that connects via usb or are there other better solutions?

The HP support pages do not seem to recognize the model number OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-022nl (ENERGY STAR) .

There is one with the OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-024nl (ENERGY STAR) or one with OMEN by HP Desktop PC - 870-022ns

Both of them use the Thimphu motherboard where there is a PCI-ex1 (under the slot PCI-e x16) that can support a network card.  If you PC has that slot, then that is an option.  Otherwise the USB choice is about the only other practical solution.
