compaq 8200 elite small form factor
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a laptop with a way better processor than my current desktop but I'm unsure if I am able to take it out of the laptop and replace the processer already on the motherboard of the desktop.

the motherboard I currently have is 1495? and the processor I'm wanting to put in is a intel core i5-6200u but I'm unsure if it will even be compatible with the motherboard.

Hi:

A notebook processor would not fit in your 8200 Elite's processor socket.

The best processor the 8200 Elite SFF can support is the i7-2600.

See the quickspecs below for the list of supported processors.
