Hi @MTDM, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Your HP All-in-One 24-g102nl is running extremely slow, despite having sufficient memory. Here’s how to diagnose and fix the issue:

Check for High Resource Usage

  • Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager
  • Go to the Processes tab → Sort by CPU and Disk Usage
  • If anything is using 80-100% consistently, note the process name

Fix:

  • Disable unnecessary startup apps: Ctrl + Shift + Esc → Startup tab → Disable unwanted apps
  • End high CPU/Disk usage processes (if safe to do so)

2. Check for Windows Updates & Drivers

  • Go to: Settings → Update & Security → Windows Update → Check for updates
  • Update Drivers:
    1. Win + X → Device Manager
    2. Expand Display Adapters, Storage Controllers, Network Adapters
    3. Right-click each → Update Driver → Search automatically

Perform a Storage & Disk Health Check

  1. Check Disk Health:
    • Open Command Prompt as Admin
    • Run: wmic diskdrive get model, status
    • If it shows "Caution" or "Bad", the HDD/SSD might be failing
  2. Check Storage Usage:
    • Win + E → Right-click C: → Properties → Tools → Check
    • Run chkdsk /f /r in Command Prompt (Admin)
  3. Check SSD/HDD Speed (If HDD, Consider Upgrading to SSD)
    • Install CrystalDiskInfo to check SSD/HDD health & speed

Scan for Malware & Background Tasks

  • Use Windows Defender: Win + S → Search Windows Security → Full Scan
  • Run Malwarebytes (Free) to check for hidden malware
  • Disable Background Apps:
    • Settings → Privacy → Background Apps → Turn Off unnecessary ones

Check Virtual Memory (Pagefile) Settings

  • Win + R → type sysdm.cpl → Advanced → Performance → Settings
  • Go to Advanced → Virtual Memory → Click Change
  • Uncheck Automatically manage
  • Select Custom size, set:
    • Initial size: 1.5x your RAM
    • Maximum size: 3x your RAM
  • Click Set → OK → Restart

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
