HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC TG01-2000a (2Z6E2AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

System came with 1 16gb ddr4 3200mhz memory stick. Tried adding another 1 16gb 3200mhz stick(random brand) but the system only shows the speed at 2333. Ok than ordered HP v6 series ddr4 3200mhz 8gbx2. Installed that and speeds only show as 2560mhz. Does this mobo not support dual channel memory at 3200mhz? The bios is locked down from hp so no way of checking memory settings. All i want is dual channel memory at 3200mhz/why isn't this working?

Hi@nitric,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are looking for RAM upgrade on the HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop PC. Click this link for Manuals.

This motherboard supports:

  • Dual channel memory architecture (One DIMM per channel)

  • Two DDR4 UDIMM (288-pin) sockets

  • Supports up to PC4-25600 (DDR4-3200)

  • Supports 4 GB and 8 GB DDR4 UDIMMs

  • Supports up to 4 GB on 32-bit systems

  • NOTE: 32-bit systems cannot address a full 4.0 GB of memory.

  • Supports up to 32 GB (unbuffered) with two 16 GB DIMMs on 64-bit systems

  • NOTE: Maximum memory shown reflects the capability of the hardware and can be limited further in the operating system.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
