Product: HP adapter model number 398291-001
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)
https://www.newegg.com/p/1A0-001P-00949
We've been using a few SATA-to-SAS adapters from China which appear to be failing:
the plastic housing appears to warp with prolonged heat and normal usage.
A similar adapter with HP model number 398291-001 appears to be a compatible upgrade.
See Newegg link above to that adapter.
Question: is the HP 398291-001 compatible with SATA data connectors that have spring latches?
Specifically, to be compatible with spring latches, the above connector will need to have
2 small holes in the housing immediately above the "L-shaped" SATA connector.
A spring latch can then mate with those 2 small holes.
