Windows 10 has built in capability of writing to DVD. If you need to add a DVD burner best is to use a USB3 external but a full size drive is cheaper assuming it will fit in case. If you have a DVD burner you can determine its capability by using Nero's Infotool
The above shows the Model UJ267 properties which include buffer underrun protection. If your system is too slow then the DVD can wait for the data to be provided later and not leave a gap such as missing video or sound.
Your system will work fine with any quality DVD or Blue ray burner. Note that windows 10 media player cannot play Blueray due to licensing issues but DVD play fine.
