recently managed to pick one of these up, im just looking to figure out what the best min/max set up for this specific machine would be (im aware it is several years old) currently running the base psu (320w ) with a r7 370 2gb 16gigs of ram (4x4),  and an i5 4570, im looking to turn this into a sleeper build so ik at the top of my list needs to be psu, and ram (and fans obviously) for the then upcoming cpu and gpu. ive already picked out a 750w atx and an i7 4790k (even though i cant overclock it) but i am absolutely lost in terms of what to get ram wise and gpu wise can someone help???

@mxrtald,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

The HP EliteDesk 800 G1 TWR was one of my legacy upgrade projects, and you'll likely find all your questions covered in my link: Solved: Upgrading an HP EliteDesk 800 G1 TWR - HP Support Community - 8851089.

did you ever finish this build or was the 2080 not possible?

@mxrtald,

Yes, the RTX 2080 Super did work just fine, but used this card for another upgrade build shortly thereafter. This card is quite long (10½ inches) but I got it to fit after some case modifications.
