WhatsApp Image 2016-08-01 at 00.47.11.jpegWhatsApp Image 2016-08-01 at 00.47.11.jpeghi everyone im new to the forum,

ive got an elitedesk 800 g2 mini and the sata plastic connector is there which is at the minute plugged into the hard drive but the little ribbon cable is not there that plugs in to sata 0 on the motherboard.

ive tried googling and looking on all forums and i cant find anything with a pic on

the nearest looking things ive got are the hp envy 15 sata cables they look the same to me

does anyone have one of these elitedesk 800 g2 and can send me a pic of the 2,5 inch sata cable/connector please?

thanks

i even bought an m2 hard drive to use that instead but i cant get it to see it in bios!

thanks mac

There is an image of the connector in the following manual. See pages 23-25

See page 28 for M.2 SSD specs and images.  If your PC has the M.2 connector, why waste money on purchasing the SATA connector?   Definitely go for the M.2 NVMe SSD.  My current product loan Spectre 13 has one. They are incredibly fast.

Did you purchase the correct interface and memory type of M.2 SSD?  That is a very important consideration.

For your current M.2 SSD. Try entering the BIOS and clicking on the UEFI Drivers section and then the 3rd party Option Rom Management.  That should allow you to see the SSD and set the boot order, if it is the correct type.

i bought the samsung vnand ssd 850 evo m.2 for it and it fit it but didnt recognise it, but i was still wanting to use a sata drive as well , i did a bit of searching and finally found a cable on ebay for £20 which is the same as the envy cable apparently, thats arrived and working spot on

so i did a bit of digging and on one of the forums it says you cant boot from the m.2 slot anyway and the drive ive bought isnt compatible either!

the machine is very speedy well impressed!

Is there a list of compatible M.2 SSDs for the HP EliteDesk 800 G2 mini? I have bought 2 different, Samsung EVO 850 250GB and ADATA 128GB, bouth 2280. So I wonder why none of them are recognized in bios and then later at Windows 10 instalation?

Can some tell us which M.2 SSD works, so everyone can but one that is recognized and works. I mean the exact brand and name / capacity of the M.2 SSD.

Thanks.
