elitedisplay E240C

Hi all, the brighness on the elitedisplay E240C is way too low, how do you brighten it?

The Online user guide suggests doing the following;

Use the On-Screen Display (OSD) menu to adjust the monitor screen image based on your preferences. You can access and make adjustments in the OSD menu using the buttons on the monitor's front bezel. To access the OSD menu and make adjustments, do the following: 1. If the monitor is not already on, press the Power button to turn on the monitor. 2. To access the OSD menu, press one of the three buttons located near the bottom edge of the front bezel to activate the buttons, and then press the Menu button to open the OSD. 3. Use the Menu, –, and + buttons to navigate, select, and adjust the menu choices.

But there are not "one of the three buttons located near the bottom edge of the front bezel".........there are 5!!!

Clearly, HP has put the wrong user manual online, and I can't find instructions anywhere!

VERY poor from by HP, how can they make a mistake like this? Putting the wrong user manual up on their website is disgraceful customer service

I'm assuming you've searched this link as well in reference to adjusting your display settings via win 7, 8, & 10

Hi there, thanks for the reply.

I running Win 8, and that wasn't referred to in your link.

I tried adjusting the brighness as per these instructions, but it had no effect:

http://www.tomshardware.com/faq/id-2082965/adjust-screen-brightness-windows-windows.html

Unfortunately I still can't change the brightness of this monitor, and it still doesn't explaint how HP can post an incorrect instruction manual on their website!

Based on he information you've supplied and not knowing what monitor you have or if HP has actually listed the monitors information incorrectly, try this link as it's a generic HP monitor  adjustment link via toms site:

https://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/elitedisplay-e271i-monitor-review,3598-3.html

In other words, ha e you tried to right click in a blank field or area of your screen to see what options are avaible to you.

Hi there, thanks for your replies.

Iv'e tried adjusting the brightness via the 'right click' method, and it's already set at 100%

The monitor I'm using is as per the subject line.....elitedisplay E240C

HP have clearly linked the wrong monitor to the usermanual for the E240C

Very frustrating!

Hello, the instruction is actually correct, perhaps not explicit enough. You have to look below the screen under the HP logo. Underneath there are 3 buttons. Hard to see at first! Hope this helps. Good day to you.
