We have the same issue on a 280 G2 Micro Tower.

As a workaround we switched the system fan with the CPU fan (just the connectors) and they both work. The only issue now is that the system fan works in higher speeds, which makes it a bit noisy.

@raedkuwait -- do you have a THREE-WIRE fan on top of the processor?

Two wires are used to supply power to make the fan spin, even when it is not connected to your computer.

The third wire gives feedback to the computer about the actual speed of the fan, and allows the motherboard to control the speed of the fan.

If that "feedback" is not working, the motherboard could report "not detected".

Replace the fan.

its all in one computer?!! no such wires at all and only one fan is there, and as i said i tested the fan and its working and spinning but not in the motherboard?!

I can only assume (from my case too) that is a motherboard issue.

i have tested the fan by connecting it to a 12V source and it is working fine.

Your testing only used TWO out of the THREE wires.

It is the THIRD wire (and the internal electronic circuits inside the fan that do the "feedback" and respond to the motherboard's commands to speed-up/slow-down) that is the problem.

I believe that if you purchase a new 3-wire fan, your motherboard will detect it, and will control its speed. If the motherboard works with this new fan, then it is not a "motherboard problem".

Finally, it is much less expensive, and less invasive, to replace the fan, than it would be to replace the motherboard.  So, start with a new fan, for a few dollars.

very good point, the problem is i can not find this fan here in kuwait, and i dont know where to order this fan and have it shipped to kuwait, if you could direct me to where to buy this fan, and if there is a away to just let this fan spin all the time that would be also fine with me.

remove the fan, look on the back and you should see the model number of the fan, use that number in a google search or visit HP parts surfer

A 45$ for a fan 🙂 that is for sure more than few bucks. and i could not find it in the link you provided.

@raedkuwait -- your question is similar to: HP Spectre ONE fan is broken - HP Support Community - 8072361

From: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=C3T06EA&searchby=product

I see: 693463-001 Fan Blower, 80mm x 20mm, Vespoli  -- NO LONGER SUPPLIED

So, do a Google-search on 693463-001

to find any non-HP suppliers that can sell one unit to you, and confirm that they will ship it to KUWAIT.

(Or, if you have any family in North America, tell them what to purchase, send them money, and get them to ship it to you.)
