Hello,

Note:

Build id and Feature bytes is case sensitive, please do not add any space between the characters.

I suspect the problem was that some of letters ion the feature byte look like lowercase, but are actually just a "short" uppercase character.

You can often get the Feature Byte and Build ID from Partsurfer.hp.com if you search by serial number, the feature byte will be on two separate lines.

You need to be sure the iMAGE BID IS ENTERED COMPLETELY, FOR EXAMPLE, 15WWCLET**#SABA#DABA, then enter the Product No. completely if they have #ABA enter it, enter the serial number, enter the SystemBD # (the new one of the new system board), look inside the machine . The used the BuilID and the Serial # to calculate the CRC value of the Feature Byte.

I recommend to update the BIOS to the last revision and reset the BIOS to defaults and finally entered the Feauture Byte ID (look for it in HP Partsurfer;partsurfer.hp.com the letters are more clear

Is not necessary to enter the #ABA

On the G3 machines it is highly recommended to check partsurfer most of the featured item build IDs are there that feature byte is split into two separate lines.

Most of the time that I see someone having a problem answering a feature bite their reading something like a lowercase h as a lowercase n because they look so much alike.

I have tried all suggestions in the forum, and the one that is working is when you write down in the BIOS all the info of the label with the #aba inclusive, you try without the #aba and the error continues. I have noticed with the labels pictures presented in the forum tha the CRC value is different (feature byte ID second line) depending of the market (#ABA,#ABG, etc).

We have deployed over 100 of those machines (#aba and Windows 10 PRO) and the feature byte finished in .E8 for all of them. WE have the opportunity to work in other part of the caribbean machine (#ABM) and the feature byte last two digits are different.

Could you please check if this is true depending of the market, look at the last picture sent the feature byte is different and the person apparently is from the ASIA market.

Thanks.

When the last two characters in the feature byte are different from a different feature by you will also find some other difference in the first group of characters.

The company I work for has set up thousands of machines without the #ABA.

The feature byte identifies Hardware features of the machine as well as software features, different markets have different variants of the software install when you're using Factory recovery media.

The #ABA is a region code which in this case identifies a USA machine.
