I have a Pavilion 590-p0103wb. I have the sunflower motherboard w/express x 16 slot and express x1 slot. Do you have a suggestion on which firewire card I should purchase? I want to transferring Hi8MP tapes to my hard drive. ty

Personally, I wouldn't utilize my PCIe x16 slot, as it is reserved for a graphics card. If this holds true for you as well, go for something like this: Amazon.com: StarTech.com 4 port PCI 1394a FireWire Adapter Card - 3 External 1 Internal FireWire PCI....
Btw, most FireWire cards, particularly those designed for consumer or standard use, typically require just a PCIe x1 slot anyway.
Keep in mind that FireWire has become less common, and USB and Thunderbolt have largely taken over as the primary high-speed data transfer and device connection interfaces.
