HP Engage One Pro AIO System Base Model
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello. I want to upgrade the processor of my Engage One Pro device, but there are processors ending with "E" in the processor list. The problem is that I can't find processors ending with "E". Will I have any problems if I use a processor without the E suffix? For example; If I switch from "celeron G5900E" to "i5-10500", will it work without any problems?

@Emre_Alkan,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

Unless I am mistaken, but looking at your AIO's manual, it appears to me that the processor in the HP Engage One Pro AIO System Base Model is soldered onto the motherboard, meaning it cannot be removed or upgraded. Unfortunately, this means you won’t be able to swap your Celeron G5900E for an i5-10500 (or any other processor).

If you're looking for a performance boost, you might consider upgrading the RAM or storage if the system allows it. Let me know if you need help with that!

Hello again. Actually, the processor is not in favor. I am sure of the video here. I also upgraded the memory and took the processor out and examined it. Everything seems normal and standard.

You can see the processor at 16:40 in this video

Also, when I compare the i5-10500E and i5-10500 on Intel's comparison page, all the technical details seem the same. Since I can't find a processor ending with E, I will get the normal one, but since I am not sure, I am trying to get information from you, the valuable community🙏🏼

@Emre_Alkan,

I see, well, like I said, going by what information HP provided, the "E" processors appeared to me to be embedded, something that is also confirmed in this link: https://www.cpu-world.com/CPUs/Core_i5/Intel-Core%20i5%20i5-10500E.html, where this processor is classified as "embedded".

Anyways, the main difference between both processors is that the i5-10500 is clocked higher, whilst the i5-10500E is clocked lower (kind of like the "T" processors) to create less heat for long-term operation, such as intended for use in laptops and AIOs.

So, what this means for you and your processor-swappable AIO, is that you could install non-"E" processors, but these processors will run hotter than "E" processors, and HP clearly picked the less-hot running processor family in your AIO.

You can purchase both processors, just ascertain that you get what you wanted.
