Can I upgrade the RTX 2060 Super graphics card with an NVIDIA RTX 5060 8G?

@pAO67,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

An RTX 2060 Super has a 175-watt TDP, and an RTX 5060 has a 145-watt TDP, so in terms of power delivery (I assume you got a 500-watt power supply) there are no problems.

However, many HP desktops are not (yet?) compatible with the newest Nvidia RTX 50xx series graphics cards.

Let me know what model PC you got, and I can tell you for sure.

The Nvidia RTX 40xx series cards are all compatible, by the way.

Kind Regards,

@pAO67,

Unfortunately, it appears that your OMEN 25L Desktop - GT12-0xxx both fitted with the DoradoOC (SSID 8703) and Dorado (SSID: 8704) motherboards are not compatible with the RTX 50xx series graphics cards, also verified by actual HP System OMEN 25L Desktop GT12-0xxx Users: UserBenchmark: HP OMEN 25L Desktop GT12-0xxx Compatible Components.

Thanks for information.

Another question. Can I install a RTX 4060 TI ?

@pAO67,

Yes, a smaller-sized (dual fan) RTX 4060 Ti (8GB or 16GB) such as this model or this model, powered by a single 8-pin PCIe power cable, has a 160/165-watt TDP, and would be an outstanding upgrade from an RTX 2060 Super, and can be powered by a 500-watt power supply.
