Hey may i know some info about h8-1114 and get suggestions. I am buying this desktop and had some questions on upgrading the ram so how much maximum ram does this CPU support and what ram do you all suggest to use
Here is the link with some info : https://icecat.biz/us/p/hp/qp801aar/pavilion-pcs-workstations-h8-1114-16288994.html
I am looking for upgrading to 16gb ram (2x8) as it comes with 2x4 gb ram which is 8 gb so can anyone suggest any ram companies and brands so i can buy from them in the bugget of 30 dollars or less.
Sincerely,
Sai

Hi:
According to the Crucial memory report for that model PC, it can only support a maximum of 2 x 4 GB of memory.
HP - Compaq Pavilion HPE h8-1114 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com
HP has retired support for that model PC since it is more than 10 years old.
This link has the specs for the motherboard your PC comes with:
HP Carmel2 656846-002 IPISB-CU REV 2.00 Motherboard + Pentium G620 2.6GHz CPU - The620Guy.com
That also indicates the max memory support is 2 x 4 GB.

Hi:
I'm pretty sure it won't, but feel free to install an 8 GB memory chip in one of the slots and if it works and reports 12 GB, then you can install a second 8 GB chip.
If you want, you can also run this command to see if it is possible after you get the PC:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. After the command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
