HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-b010 (Touch)

Please Help.  I am an idiot and did not back up data!

I have and HP All in One b010 which does not support Windows 11.

I bought a new HP All in One that I have been using for the past 7 months.

However, I have data on the "old" HP hard drive that I can not retrieve.

I removed the hard drive from old HP and connected to new HP and hard drive does not display as a drive.

There is data on the hard drive as before I removed from old HP is stated there was around 50% space available.

Thank you for any and all assistance!!

@SandiB123, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding hard drive issues!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If you've connected your old HP All-in-One computer's hard drive to your new computer and the drive is not displaying, there are several steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue:

Check Connections:

  • Ensure that the hard drive is securely connected to your new computer. This includes power and data connections. If you're using an external hard drive enclosure, make sure it's properly powered and the USB cable is functional.

Device Manager Check:

  • Open Device Manager on your new HP All-in-One computer. You can do this by typing "Device Manager" in the Start menu search and pressing Enter.
  • Check under "Disk Drives" to see if the connected hard drive appears. It may be a driver issue if the drive is listed but not showing up in "This PC".

Disk Management:

  • Go to Disk Management by right-clicking on "This PC" or "My Computer" and selecting "Manage". Then, navigate to "Disk Management".
  • Check if the hard drive appears here. If it does, but without a drive letter, you might need to assign a drive letter by right-clicking on the partition and selecting "Change Drive Letter and Paths".

Drive Health:

  • If the drive does appear in Device Manager but not in Disk Management, it might be a sign of disk corruption. Consider using disk health software to diagnose the issue.

Data Recovery Services:

  • If the above steps do not work and you still cannot access the data, you may need to consider professional data recovery services. Look for HP support options or third-party data recovery specialists.

Use a Different Computer or Adapter:

  • Try connecting the hard drive to another computer or using a different USB adapter to rule out any compatibility issues with the new HP All-in-One.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
