Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)
I have a HP 6510f pc and it has a seagate barracuda 7200.12 750 Gbytes in it.I need to upgrade to a higher hard drive.Any suggestions on what would work for me

Sorry to jump in. Your machine is a Desktop, not laptop/notebook. If you wish to use 2.5" HDD you need bracket/adapter. Please use 3.5" HDD. Normally 3.5" HDD's are cheaper and more choices with faster HDD's  (bigger cache, more RPM).

Yes, you can use both but for 2.5" you need a caddy/bracket to line up all holes. Why you have to do that ?

now the place that is selling the hard drive said if a 2.5 is in there then a 3.5 will not fit
