Hi @peanut35

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Having your HP desktop connect to a network but showing "No Internet, Secured" can be frustrating. Here are some steps to troubleshoot and hopefully fix the issue:

Restart Your Computer and Network Devices:

  • Restart your HP desktop.
  • Turn off your router or the device providing the hotspot, wait for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

Forget and Reconnect to the Network:

  • Open "Settings" and go to "Network & Internet".
  • Click on "Wi-Fi", then select "Manage known networks".
  • Click on the network name and select "Forget".
  • Try to reconnect to the network with the correct password.

Update Network Adapter Drivers:

  • Right-click on the "Start" menu and select "Device Manager".
  • Expand "Network adapters".
  • Right-click on your wireless adapter and select "Update driver".
  • Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software".

Reset TCP/IP Settings:

  • Open "Command Prompt" as Administrator by typing "cmd" in the search bar, right-clicking it, and selecting "Run as administrator".
  • Execute the following commands one-by-one:
    netsh winsock reset
    netsh int ip reset
    ipconfig /release
    ipconfig /renew
    ipconfig /flushdns
  • Restart your computer after running these commands.

Check Network Settings:

  • Go to "Settings" -> "Network & Internet".
  • Under "Status", click on "Network troubleshooter" to identify and fix issues.
  • Ensure that "Set as metered connection" is turned off.

Disable VPN and Antivirus Temporarily:

  • Some VPN or security software might interfere with network connections. Temporarily disable them to see if it resolves the issue.

Modify Power Management Settings:

  • Go to "Device Manager" and right-click on your wireless adapter.
  • Select "Properties", then go to the "Power Management" tab.
  • Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".

Try Connecting to Different Network:

  • See if the issue persists when connecting to a completely different network to determine if the problem lies with the specific network or your HP desktop.

Let me know how it goes.
