@jarmo1,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

That is a really good question.

According to: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c04892038#AbT5, your HP Z240 SFF/Tower Workstation's TPM 1.2 should be upgradeable to TPM 2.0:

First, check your current TPM version: Press the Windows key + R, then type: tpm.msc and hit OK.  You should see something like this:

If it says 1.2, please try HP's driver updates first:

A.) If you have an HP Z240 SFF: HP Z240 Small Form Factor Workstation Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support.

B.) If you have an HP Z240 Tower Workstation: HP Z240 Tower Workstation Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support.

Once done, check your TPM version again.  If the aforementioned step didn't work, follow the steps found in this link: https://www.danielengberg.com/hp-tpm-firmware-version-upgrade-from-1-2-to-2-0-tpm-configuration-util....

Hope this was helpful.

Kind Regards,
