Hello,
I am having an issue with USB devices, namely razer keybord and mouse. etc.
When more than one of them is connected and their software (synaps) is running. All of them is being dropped off from USB every 1-2 minutes. More of them is connected, more frequent the dropps are.
I am done with re installing synaps, all the USB drivers, deleting registry, and everything razer related then re installing.
Had a windows reinstall too.
For some people running synaps in win 8 compatibility mode is the solution. For me it isn't.
The last ressort seems to be is to go back to USB 2.0. As even razer support said it at one point, it does not like usb 3.0.
Now the trouble is, my bios does not seem to have an option to change xHCI mode.
Is there any alternative solution to this?
Kind Regards,
Bela

Hi, I am trying to disable it as last ressult before binning my otherwise perfect laptop.
All of my periferia here is from Razor, all of them works perfectly fine on it's own.
Keyboard, mouse, mouse pad, laptop stand which is also a USB hub and a microphone.
When more than two of them are connected, and their app is running, USB gets disconnected every 1-2 minutes.
All of them gets dropped at once, then they get re connected one by one.
Now i have followed all tips, guides, instructions, but it still keeps happening.
Re installed all the drivers, fully deleted synaps, re installed windows as well.
Running synaps in win8 compatibility mode.
Tried using externally powered USB hub, disabled all power saving.
The last lead i have is from razer's support.
Synaps does not like USB 3.0
So back converting them to be USB 2.0s could be the solution.
Any other idea is very welcommed.
Like to add, more of them is connected, the worst it gets.
And none razer devices are making it worst too.
The built in webcam caunts as one too.

might not be what you want to hear or do, but i would replace the mouse/kbd with another brand if you actually use/create macros as this is cheaper than replacing the laptop or spending hours fiddling with software
or, if you don't change/use macros constantly then consider creating the macros for both devices one at a time programing each device then removing the synaps software and if the devices still drop off try them on another computer and see if you still have problems

What I do not understand is how to disable ahci, would change usb 3.0 ports to 2.0
What exactly is your hardware, computer, and peripheral
IF you try without software which may also be incompatible with windows 10?
Curious that to have tried with a powered USB hub, does not help
often if several usb device disconnects, it is because they are not powered
Can you test all the hardware with another computer running Windows 10?

This doesn't happen if the Synapse software isn't installed. When using Synapse 3.0 it happens 3 times more than Synapse 2.0.
I can't follow the whole discussion, I don't know if it's exactly the same problem, but obviously many people have similar concerns!

Thank you for the ideas. I just doubled down on Razer for myself this chrismas. I was hoping to use a mouse with a charging dock, with the dongle plugged in to the dock and be caunted as one device, instead of my old one which had a cable and a dongle, taking up two slots.
It does not work as the hub is a seperate device.

HI, I was going through a lots of suggested soulutions when i read about the problem with USB 3.0 in this case. And somewhere else saw that turrning off ahci makes it work as they are usb 2.0s.
The PC is:
Device name Laptop
Processor AMD Ryzen 5 2500U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx 2.00 GHz
Installed RAM 8.00 GB (7.71 GB usable)
Device ID FADFA6C2-71F0-4ACB-B4D1-31C81C5FC976
Product ID 00325-96237-63488-AAOEM
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch Pen and touch support with 10 touch points
Windows:
Edition Windows 10 Home
Version 21H2
Installed on 20/03/2021
OS build 19044.1415
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.3920.0
Correct, it was in march when i decided to try a re install.
Extras we are having problem with:
Huntsman Elite,
Viper Ultimate,
Laptop Stand 1.0,
Firefly 1.0,
Siren X.
I have stopped using the ManOwar headset, using a WH-1000XM4 over Bluetooth instead.
And what i noticed is that the laptop's built in camera makes things worse as well when in use.
What we know is for some people running Synaps in win8 compatibility mode have solved the problem.
Not for me. And for some it's the win 11 update that solved the issue.
I won't get it because the CPU is "too old".
Have everything else covered.

Sorry, but from what I saw, the problem is not coming directly from your computer.
One thing is certain, you can not deactivate the AHCI, and in my opinion no relation with the usb
Unfortunately, I could not tell you anything more than what I have already found
If we are forced to use a compatibility mode, it means that the software is obsolete, not planned for another system, if no update on their side, I do not see what else you can try.
But tried to see, in Razer support, the community, it looks like you're not the only one, there must be another option!
