hp 460 p050na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This is one of those simple and trivial questions (if you know the answer !)

How do I open the desktop box ?

There are about 6 steel screws on the back and a big black one. But even when all were undone , the case would not budge

I want to install a nvidia graphics card

Thank You

I would request you to refer to this Manual HP Desktop - 460-p050na Manual for removing the chassis. You need to slide the chassis out.

I hope this helps and keep me posted if you need any help.

Good News and Bad News !

The Good News - opening the box is trivially simple - Thanks for the very explicit diagram.

The Bad News - There are in effect no expansion slots on the M/B .  There is one but there is no opening on the chassis for the rear plate of the card.  So I am going to post another question about improving the graphics capability of the machine

Many Thanks

There usually is a "filler" part to fill the area where the "spine" of the video-card will go.

Good picture of a semi-removed "filler", at:

I am aware of the usual situation with expansion card slots and the removal filler piece.  The graphics card was taken out of my previous computer.  This computer chassis has only one expansion slot and there is no removal  filler piece .  I could use a hack saw on the chassis but this would be 'extreme' and would probably invalidate any guarantee

See: https://www.manualscat.com/en/hp-460-a081na-manual

for a "low-resolution" picture of your motherboard.

Note the single screw-head to the right of the '3', on the exterior of the case, holding that "shelf" in place.

Remove the screw.  Remove that bracket. Remove the "filler" spine.  Add-in your video-card.
