When I purchased my computer HP supplied both the Windows 7 and Windows 10 install disk. I installed Windows 7 at the time and would now like to upgrade to Windows 10. How can I do this and not lose any data

Greetings @asko10

Welcome to the HP Forum. Sawadee Khap (Hello)!

Your PC may wind up having no OS if something goes wrong during the W10 upgrade process.

Back up data before making any Windows modifications. You should make a W7 system image if you are familiar with this process.

Do you also have verified HP W7 installation media? Verified means you have successfully used this installation media to recover your PC to the HP factory OS.

Your W10 installation media is obsolete. Go Here to create W10 installation media.

Use the W10 installation media to upgrade to W10 when W7 is running.

Run W10 Setup.exe on the media within an active W7 session to perform a "non destructive" in-place W10 upgrade.

I'm pretty sure you will have to purchase a W10 product key after doing the W10 upgrade. The free W7 to W10 upgrade offer has expired.

Regards
