Hello,

I have the hp ipm17-dd motherboard and all my Sata Ports are used. I want to add another ssd  hard disk to my Computer and the only way I see to make this possible is to use my M.2. Slot.

So here's my question, is there anything i have to note when buying a M.2. ssd for this motherboard? And is this possible at all?

Thanks for your help,

Greetings Janine712

hi

can you confirm to me, what you indicated as model hp ipm17-dd , would in fact be the odense motherboard
which can be found for example here

https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-750-100-desktop-pc-series/8499646/model/8524440/documen...

Odense motherboard specifications.

One M.2 socket 1, key A

Integrated Bluetooth 4.0 and Wireless LAN 802.11a/b/g/n/ac featuring Dual-band (2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz) 1 x 1 technology

  • Interface: M.2
  • Transmission standards: 802.11 a/ b/g/n/ac
  • Dual band: 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz

at best give the model of the computer

but so good that sorry, impossible, single M2 slot for the wifi card

Hello,

so I have the HP Pavilion Desktop 550 - 140ng (Energy Star) -sorry didn't find the link to this so i can post it like you did- it nearly looks the same as the odense do, but on my board you only see "ipm17-dd" and it's green and not blue like the pictures of the odense board in the Internet.

But one M.2. socket 1 key A is right.

So is there no way you can add a hard disk on this port ? 😞
