hi, I would like to upgrade the cpu of my desktop hp pavilion a6265
Currently on Mainboard Model Leonite2 socket 775 is Intel Core2 Duo E4500 I would like to put an Intel® Core ™ 2 Quad Processor Q9505 or similar.
They tell me that the motherboard does not support quad core. it's correct?
I can only choose between
Core 2 Duo E6x00 (Conroe) up to E6700
Core 2 Duo E4x00 (Conroe) up to E4400
Pentium E2000 series (Conroe) up to E2160
Pentium 4 6x1 series (Cedar Mill) up to 661 (3.6 GHz)
Celeron (Conroe) up to 440
Celeron D 3xx series (Cedar Mill) up to 365 (3.6 GHz)?
Thanks for your help

Hi, Maurizio:
Unfortunately upgrading to any quad core processor that runs at 1333 MHz would not be possible.
The maximum FSB speed your motherboard can run at is limited to 1066 MHz.
If you can get a Q6600, or Q6700 for cheap, you can experiment with one of those, but I recommend you remain within the list of supported processors.

You're very welcome.
Yes, quite a jump in peformance with the Q6700, but I have no idea if it will work since it is not listed as a supported processor.
Looks like you can get one betweeen $15 and $20 USD on eBay.

I don't know what your budget situation is, but it's a big gamble regardless.
