Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

The HP SimpleSave User Manual at this Link states this software is only supported when using: Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7.

 

You could still use the external USB drive as a data backup drive. I have a very old HP drive that shipped with SimpleSave software. I use this drive as a typical data backup drive.
