My Z820 has a built-in TPM1.2 on its motherboard that is not upgradable via Firmware. I was able to activate it from the BIOS and install Windows 11 via Exception from Microsoft. I wanted to know if it was possible to purchase a TPM 2.0 chip that I can install on the Motherboard, either via a PCI slot or a Motherboard available PIN slot.
Thank you for the support and recommendation.

Hi,
I was able to perform an upgrade from windows 10 by using the Microsoft proposed approach that provided a Registry key DWORD entry. Since then, Windows 11 has received all the Updates.
I think that the install will be okay because I was not using the components that would require the functionalities of the TPM2.0 or Processor. My Workstation is used for Machine Learning Algorithm and Photo and Movie Editing.

Hi:
I doubt it is possible but even if it was, none of the processors offered in the Z820 model series are supported for W11, so the PC would still fail to get the subsequent releases of W11 from Microsoft automatically.
So, even with a TPM 2.0 device, your PC would still not meet the W11 hardware requirements.
I've installed W11 on some 12 unsupported W11 PC's and they all work fine.
Some don't even have TPM devices, a UEFI BIOS or support secure boot.
I am pretty sure that if I use the hack in this link, I will be able to continue to do in-place upgrades for the PC's that I have installed W11 on when the new release comes out in October.

I've used it a couple of times on PC's that fall woefully short of the W11 hardware requirements.
