BIOS update on 06/13/25 took out my password and pass key... plus the 710 keyboard and audio. Probably more. I've done all the device and bluetooth turn-offs, turn-ons and restarts and nothing comes up to pair. I bought this hp envy desktop just 6 weeks ago, I'm age 72 without a tech background and windows 11 is totally new to me. I had no issues setting up or operating until the BIOS update. Best Buy fixed my login but now I find other major issues. I was warned not to go into the bios myself. Should I undo the BIOS update and try the update again or will the same issues occur?

@bwalker222, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
Here’s a step-by-step guide to help resolve the issue with your HP 710 wireless keyboard and audio not working after the BIOS update:
Perform a Power Reset
This helps clear any residual power and can reset hardware connections:
- Shut down your HP Envy desktop.
- Unplug the power cable from the wall.
- Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds.
- Plug the power cable back in and turn on the PC.
Reconnect the HP 710 Keyboard
- Make sure the keyboard has fresh batteries.
- Turn on the keyboard and ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your PC.
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Add device and try pairing again.
- If it doesn’t show up, remove any previously paired HP 710 keyboard from the list and restart the PC.
Reinstall Bluetooth and Audio Drivers
- Open Device Manager (right-click Start > Device Manager).
- Expand Bluetooth and Sound, video and game controllers.
- Right-click each device and choose Uninstall device.
- Restart your PC. Windows should automatically reinstall the correct drivers.
Restore BIOS Defaults
If the BIOS update changed hardware settings:
- Restart your PC and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
- Use arrow keys to navigate to Exit > Load Setup Defaults.
- Select Yes, then Save and Exit.
Since you were advised not to go into BIOS yourself, you may want to ask a tech-savvy friend or a tech engineer to assist with this step.
Update or Roll Back BIOS (if needed)
If the issue persists:
- Visit the HP Support page.
- Enter your HP Envy desktop model number.
- Check for a newer BIOS version or download the previous one if available.
- Follow the on-screen instructions carefully.
Important: Only update or roll back BIOS if you're comfortable or with help, as incorrect steps can cause system issues.
