Hi @SUMANTH123,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The "System Fan (90b)" error on an HP laptop indicates a problem with the system fan, which could be due to several reasons such as dust buildup, fan failure, or improper fan speed. Here are some steps you can take to address this issue.
Power Cycle Your Laptop:
- Turn off your laptop.
- Disconnect all external devices and the power adapter.
- Remove the battery (if removable).
- Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds.
- Reconnect the battery and power adapter, and then turn on the laptop.
Clean the Fan and Vents:
- Dust and debris can block the fan and vents, causing overheating. Use compressed air to blow out dust from the fan and vents. Ensure the laptop is turned off and unplugged before cleaning.
Check the Fan's Physical Condition:
- If you're comfortable doing so, you can open the laptop case to check the fan. Look for any visible damage or obstructions. Ensure the fan spins freely without resistance.
Update the BIOS:
- Sometimes, a BIOS update can resolve fan-related issues. Visit the HP support website, enter your laptop model, and check for any available BIOS updates. Follow the instructions provided to update the BIOS.
Use HP Diagnostics:
- HP laptops come with built-in diagnostics tools. Restart your laptop and immediately press the "Esc" key repeatedly until the Startup Menu opens. Press "F2" to open the System Diagnostics. Run the fan test to see if it detects any issues.
Reset BIOS Settings:
- Sometimes resetting the BIOS to default settings can help. Enter the BIOS setup by pressing "Esc" repeatedly when turning on the laptop and then pressing "F10" to enter BIOS Setup. Look for an option to reset BIOS to default settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
