i want to add 8gb ddr4 ram of 2666mhz in my laptop. will it be safe to do that

It means that the fastest speed your notebook's processor can run the memory at is limited to 2400 MHz.

 

Installing DDR4-2666 MHz or DDR4-3200 MHz memory will work fine, but they will automatically bridge to 2400 MHz.

 

So yes, the DDR4-2666 MHz memory will work fine as long as it is CL19 and will automatically bridge to 2400 MHz.

 the service module says:: DDR4-2400 dual-channel support (DDR4-3200 bridge to DDR4-2666, DDR4-2666 downgrade to DDR-2400)

what does this means?

i am having 2400mhz 8gb ram in one slot pre-installed, can i add 2666mhz 8gb ram in the other empty slot?
