@jimmy205,

Welcome to our HP community forum!

No, it is generally not possible to connect a PS5 directly to an HP All-in-One (AIO) Desktop such as an HP 27-cb0xxx for gaming due to the lack of HDMI input on most AIO PCs. All-in-One desktops typically have HDMI output to allow the desktop to send signals to an external monitor, but they usually don’t support input from external devices like gaming consoles.

However, there are workarounds:

  1. Remote Play on PC:

    • You can use PS Remote Play, a feature that allows you to stream your PS5 games to your desktop over a network connection.
    • Install the Remote Play app on your HP AIO, connect your PS5 controller to the PC, and stream your PS5 gameplay to the desktop. This method does require a stable, fast internet connection for the best experience.
  2. Capture Card * (Advanced Option):

    • If you’re serious about using the AIO screen for PS5 gaming, you could try using a capture card with HDMI input.
    • The PS5 would connect to the capture card, which is connected to your desktop via USB. This method, however, introduces some input lag and is more suited for recording or streaming than for responsive gaming.

* Here are a few budget-friendly capture cards under $50 that can be used for basic streaming and recording from your PS5:

1. Mirabox USB 3.0 HDMI Capture Card

  • Input/Output: HDMI (supports 4K 30fps pass-through, 1080p 60fps capture)
  • Connection: USB 3.0
  • Features:
    • Compatible with gaming consoles like PS5.
    • Works with OBS, Zoom, and other video conferencing/streaming software.
    • Plug-and-play, no driver required.
  • Price: ~$45 USD

2. DIGITNOW USB 3.0 Game Capture Card

  • Input/Output: HDMI (supports 4K pass-through, 1080p 60fps capture)
  • Connection: USB 3.0
  • Features:
    • Supports real-time streaming and recording.
    • Works with OBS Studio and other recording/streaming software.
    • Compact and easy to set up.
  • Price: ~$40 USD

3. TKHIN Capture Card

  • Input/Output: HDMI (supports 4K 30fps pass-through, 1080p 60fps capture)
  • Connection: USB 3.0
  • Features:
    • Budget-friendly with decent video quality for the price.
    • Compatible with OBS, VLC, and other platforms.
    • Plug-and-play support for Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Price: ~$35 USD

4. Y&H HDMI Capture Card

  • Input/Output: HDMI (supports 4K pass-through, 1080p 60fps capture)
  • Connection: USB 3.0
  • Features:
    • Affordable and suitable for basic gaming and recording.
    • Works with streaming platforms like OBS, Twitch, and YouTube.
    • No drivers required for setup.
  • Price: ~$30 USD

These cards are a great way to get started on a budget, but they may not offer the same advanced features or minimal latency as higher-end models like the Elgato series. They should still allow you to stream or record gameplay from your PS5 effectively, especially if you're looking for an entry-level option.

Again, without HDMI input, direct connection for gaming is not possible, but these workarounds can still help you use your AIO with the PS5 to some extent.

Kind Regards,
