See page 3 of the HP Z400 Quickspecs at the link below for the list of processors offered in the model series.

 

ManualsLib - Makes it easy to find manuals online!

 

This user benchmarking site has a list of over 3,000 z400 reports and I do see several reports having the Xeon x5690 installed.
