Product: HP Pavilion 590-P0020 Natural Silver Desktop Tower, AMD Ryzen3-2200G
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

i have a HP Pavilion 590-P0020 Natural Silver Desktop Tower, AMD Ryzen3-2200G  and want to upgrade to a ryzen 5 3400g. does it  support this cpu and assuming it doesnt can i upgrade its bios to support it? thanks

I am not a HP employee.

 

HP would have to provide a BIOS update to support Zen 2 processors.

so they dont offer the bios upgrade right now? i realize that zen 2 is new so maybe they will in the future

Hi,

 

This (Link) is the latest BIOS update for your PC.

 

No mention of "additional processor support" in the Fixes section.

 

The 3400G is a 65 TDP part so HP could add support for this component.
